Finished illustration... at last!

Hello folks!

This is an illustration I just finished. I might do more to it, but Im pretty happy calling it a day on this one. It started off as tiny a doodle I did a few months back, and I thought it would look cool painted up. Im not sure, perhaps it was inspired subconciously by the whole credit crunch and banking crisis...

Hey Ken, good to hear from you! Yes, the book is coming along well, I aim to have the new artwork finished within the next two weeks. Won't be showing it on the blog, people will have to buy the book to see it!! :)

Fun illustration btw, he looks like he should have wings ;)

There's no way to be ruthless with your work... is so so nice. The way you use the light in your drawings... is really amazing.

And i read you went for the freelancing... i have done the same... just as you, facing this might crisis.... and, what can i say, i'm not going richer, but certainly not poorer, and i have a lot of free time!

Hey Ken, How are you? It's 6am here in the US, but it's the only time I get any work done before I have to get everyone up and out for work and school he he he! Thanks for stopping by again!!! I'll admit I love seeing certain avatars and yours is one of them. My book,"Let Freedom Sing about the civilrights movement that took place in the early 50 and 60's here in the US. I took the song an old gospel song that you may know called, "This Little Light of Mine" and I adapted it for the story. It's contains many pictures in a real retro style, of all the people who let their lights shine during the civil rights movement. It is a very moving book in that it doesn't just speak of what blacks went through during this time, but how we all came together as well. You can listen to a small commentary about the book online at, "Justonemorebook.com" It's a podcast about children's books and they did a really fine job on this one. Just log in and scroll down and you will see a picture of the book and take a little listen. I think you might enjoy it! Ken I just wanted to say once again thanks soooooo much for taking time out to stop by my blog again. I really appreciate it.
My Best,
Vanessa Brantley-Newton
